STAR OF INDIA makes history

The worlds oldest active sailing ship, the STAR OF INDIA, is the pride of the Maritime Museum San Diego, and of all San Diego.  On November 9th, 10th, and 11th the STAR OF INDIA sails in celebration of her 150th Birthday.  Come join us on JADA as we accompany STAR OF INDIA on her Pacific Voyages.  There is no more rare opportunity than this. Just think, you will sail alongside a 150 year old sailing ship.

What was happening in 1863?

January 1, 1863, Emancipation Proclamation (ending slavery) was issued by President Lincoln.

June 20, 1863, West Virginia becomes the 34th state of the Union.

November 14, 183, STAR OF INDIA launched in Isle of Mann, England.

November 19, 1863, President Lincoln delivers the Gettysburg Address, “Four score and seven years ago……”
